School hours are between 8.30am - 2.55pm. Class Starts at 9.00am. Interval is at 10.30 - 10.50 am
Lunchtime 12.30-1.25pm.

Children can arrive between 8.30am and 8.55am. This allows them to prepare for the day's work and still have time to meet their friends and play for a few minutes.  Children are not allowed into the classrooms until 8.30am.  Please don't arrive before this as there is no supervision as teachers are preparing for the day.

The office is open from 8.30am - 3.00pm Monday to Friday during the term.

Children are eligible to travel on the bus if they are under ten years and more than 3.2kms from school and 10+ years and more than 4.3km from the school.  (in school zone).  It is the parents reponsibility to pick their children up at their appointed drop off point.  If you are out of the school zone and wish your child to use the bus on the bus route you will need to contact Rangiora High School as there will be a fee and a bus pass issued.  If you would like your child to take the school bus or any enquiries please contact our Bus Controller John Lyskey by email:  j.lynskey@ashley.school.nz .  Please give him the days you would like your child on the bus and if there are any changes please contract him in the morning by email.

Fees can be paid online
School Bank Account number 030 855 0437419-00
Please enter students name and account number as reference.

If your child is absent from or late to school, please ensure that you telephone the school office.
Phone 313-8907, and leave a message or email office@ashley.school.nz (name of child and reason for absence.)
If we haven't heard from the parents by 9.30am we will phone you for the safety of our students.
Due to the new way a students attendance is recorded the school needs to know if your child has a medical/dental appointment during the day.
If a student is away without a reason they will be entered as an unjustified absence. This can also occur if the explained absence is not within the school's policy as a justifiable reason for the student to miss school.

Please check our website or facebook for details before calling the school. We need to keep the lines free to call parents of children showing signs of distress. We will post information online as soon as possible. We maybe able to answer the phone out on the field where we will assemble but the children will be our first concern. When they are safe we will try to answer calls. You are most welcome to come and check on your child or pick up your child in these circumstances.

Parents can take children home after you have reported to the classroom teacher and your child has been marked off the classroom roll. We need to know where all children are at all times for their safety and care.

The first emergency contact person on our system will receive an email from Ashley School stating we are closing or you need to pick up your child/children.  Also we will inform you through FB and www.ashley.school.nz.  (only if possible)
